Warning: If you had any licensing serviceconfigured earlier with previous versions of the Network LicenseManager, you need to re-configure them after installing the latestversion of Network License Manager (starting v11.16.2) due to achange in the default install location of NLM binaries(C:AutodeskNetwork License Manager).

Install from Autodesk Software Media

Most Windows versions of Autodesk software also includeutilities, such as the Network License Manager, that can beinstalled in addition to the core software. We recommended that youinstall the Network License Manager included with the installationfiles for your Autodesk software.

To install from Autodesk installationmedia:

  1. Launch the installer for the most recent version of thesoftware you wish to activate using a network license serverby double-clicking the .exe fileassociated with your product and version.
    Note: This is the product installer for yourAutodesk software, not an installer for the Network LicenseManager. In this example, the install file for AutoCAD 2017 isused to install the Network License Manager.

    Locating Installation Files

    • Downloads: Check the default download folderfor your Web browser, your Desktop, Downloads folder, or theAutodesk folder: System >Autodesk >ProductName_Version_Language_OS_BitRate.
    • USB or DVD: A folder containing install filesshould appear on your desktop after inserting the media.
  2. Click on the Install Tools & Utilities option.
  3. Check the box next to Network License Managerand click the Install button.
    Note: If you wish to change the install location,you can click Browse and select the location of your choice.We recommend you use the default location.
  4. Click Finish to close the installer window when theInstallation Complete screen appears.
  5. Refer to Generate a Network License File in Autodesk Account toobtain a network license file.
  6. Refer to Configuringthe Network License Manager on Windows to configure theNLM.
